01 May K&A Completes COO Search for Autonomous Aviation Technology Start-up Xwing
May 1, 2020 – Autonomous Aviation Technology start-up Xwing has hired industry veteran Jeff Wehrenberg as Chief Operating Officer of its cargo airline business.
Wehrenberg brings 35 years of aviation experience including extensive expertise in airline operations, aircraft maintenance and FAA certification. Previously Jeff was President and COO of AAR Airlift Group, and has held senior executive roles at other airlines.
As COO he will lead the 135 certification and all aspects of the airline operation – engineering, aircraft acquisition, maintenance, ground operations, flight operations, technical services and regulatory compliance. He will also work closely with the executive team on the strategic direction and growth of the cargo business.
Xwing is currently working with the FAA to receive flight certification for unmanned aircraft, and is preparing to scale up its efforts to create a market ready solution for safe and secure pilotless flights.
